Standing Water on a Flat Roof
Acceptable Performance/Condition Flat roofs shall be installed to drain water. Standing water on roofs designed for water retention is acceptable. Warranty One-Year Work and Materials Damage resulting from improper maintenance or additions, deletions or alterations made by the homeowner is excluded from the warranty. Action Roofing not meeting the acceptable condition shall be repaired. Remarks Flat roofs typically are slow to drain and should be constructed to handle exposure to standing water over short terms. Municipalities can require flow control devices to be installed on roof drains. Some standing water is normal and should generally dissipate after a few days. |
